What is Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery?
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is one of nine dental specialties. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Drs. They focus on traditional and surgical treatment of these conditions, while working to maintain the aesthetics and function of the affected area.
What is Board Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery?
The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the professional organization representing more than 8,500 oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the United States, supports its members’ ability to practice their specialty through education, research, and advocacy.
AAOMS members comply with rigorous continuing education requirements and submit to periodic office examinations, ensuring the public that all office procedures and personnel meet stringent national standards.
